For Sexually Transmitted Diseases the drug is administered orally in a single dose of 800mg. Norfloxacin pills are administered orally they can be taken twice daily, to be swallowed with a glass of water. It is advised to take the tablets of Norfloxacin one or two hours after having food. You must drink lot of water during treatment with Norfloxacin. Overdose of the medicine reduces its effect.
The drug has some side effects like diarrhea, nausea, lightheadedness or headache and sometimes can cause dizziness. In addition to it sometimes the patient may experience hallucinations, depression, anxiety, confusion, Suicidal thoughts, Shaking or increased photosensitivity.
There are some adverse but rarely observed side effects such as fever, sore throat, bleeding, bruising, tiredness, blurred vision, vomiting, abdominal pain, and increase in amount of urination or yellowing of skin or eyes.
Other side effects that occur very rarely but could turn very dangerous if immediate medical attention is not sleeked include dizziness, fainting or change in the rate of heartbeat.
The allergic reactions with this drug are not very common and in rare case they show the symptoms like dizziness, rash, itching, and swelling or can cause trouble in breathing. If the drug is used for very long period then the symptoms of oral thrash or vaginal infection develop.
